👋 Welcome!

I'm Sean, a therapist based in Toronto. I provide online therapy for individuals navigating anxiety, depression, gaming and substance dependencies, sex and sexuality concerns, and trauma. My approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in curiosity, compassion, and courage—helping you explore your thoughts, emotions, and whole self.

🌿 I specialize in Internal Family Systems (IFS), an approach that helps you connect with different parts of yourself for deeper healing.

⬇️ What I Can Help With

  • Anxiety can show up in many ways—rumination, physical tension, difficulty relaxing. It represents parts of yourself that work hard (likely too hard!) to try to keep you safe. In our sessions, we’ll bring curiosity and compassion to your anxiety to understand it and help it step back and soften so you can feel more calm in your daily life.

  • Depression can feel like it drains your motivation and joy, but often it signals parts of you that are struggling to cope with past or present challenges. Together, we’ll explore what these parts need to feel supported and begin to shift their roles. Alongside this deeper work, we can also develop small, manageable steps to help you reengage with the things that matter most to you.

  • Trauma can deeply impact how we feel about ourselves and the world, but addressing it doesn’t have to feel overwhelming or rushed. My approach to working with trauma is gentle and grounded in creating safety and support from within. This careful, client-led process allows healing to unfold at your pace, with compassion and respect for your unique journey.

  • Gaming, substance use, and other habits often take on a role to try to help us cope with difficult emotions. Sometimes they help us manage stress, numb pain, or escape overwhelming feelings. These strategies can be proactive—used to regulate and soothe—or reactive, driven by impulse and habit. While they may sometimes feel destructive or out of control, it’s important to recognize that they serve a purpose. We can hold space for both the part of you that is critical of these behaviors and the part that relies on them, exploring how to help our destructive parts find balance.

If you're noticing patterns that feel out of your control sometimes, we can explore them together with curiosity and without shame. Through this lens, we can also look at other impulsive behaviours and find ways to bring more balance and intention into your life.

  • Executive dysfunction is central to ADHD and affects far more than just attention. It encompasses skills like planning, organizing, prioritizing tasks, and managing emotions. When these abilities are disrupted, it can feel like daily life is an uphill battle. In our work together, we’ll explore how these challenges show up for you and how they relate to different parts of your system. By building strategies tailored to your needs we can help you navigate the the many difficulties of ADHD and executive dysfunction with greater ease and confidence.

  • Your brain doesn’t need to work like everyone else’s to be valid. Whether you identify as neurodivergent or are exploring what that means for you, therapy can be a space to better understand your unique ways of thinking, feeling, and interacting with the world.

Neurodiversity can shape how we process emotions, navigate relationships, and manage daily life. It can also come with challenges like sensory sensitivities, executive functioning struggles, or feeling out of sync with expectations. Rather than trying to "fix" anything, we can work together to find strategies that actually fit you—embracing strengths while addressing challenges with compassion.

  • Sexuality is complex—whether you’re questioning, unpacking shame, or wanting a space where all of you is welcome. For many, past trauma can make it difficult to connect with desire, intimacy, or their own bodies. Whatever is on your mind, we can talk about it in a safe and professional space, free of judgment.

Our experiences of sex, sexuality, and gender are deeply personal but also shaped in some particular ways by the world around us—sometimes in affirming ways, and sometimes through challenges that can feel isolating or confusing. Let's explore these aspects of yourself with curiosity and care, whether you're navigating identity, family, relationships, desire, or societal pressures.

As a queer therapist, I understand that the LGBTQ+ experience is vast, and no two people’s journeys are the same. I welcome clients of all identities, including those who are straight, queer (in the broadest sense), trans, questioning, asexual, kinky, polyamorous... let's talk!

I want to add that I've had the privilege of working with some trans people in deep, experiential therapy—exploring gender, embodiment, confidence, and resilience. Whether you’re affirming who you are, untangling internalized messages, or simply wanting to feel more at home in yourself, I would be honoured to support you on your journey.
